Tuition booking and cancellation terms

Who provides the tuition

Tuition is provided by Kiruthika Aingaran, trading as Akiru, 27 Old Gloucester Street, London WC1N 3AX. Email: kiru@akiru.co.uk.

The sessions

Sessions are 1:1 online maths tuition, 60 minutes long, for one child. Your tutor teaches maths from 11+ entrance to A-Level (UK syllabi). The price is £60 per session. We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged.

Booking

You request a time on the tuition page. A booking is confirmed only when your tutor accepts it by email. A parent or guardian must make the booking and be responsible for it.

Payment

Tuition isn't paid online: sessions are invoiced monthly in arrears. After you book, your tutor confirms your session by email. At the end of each month your tutor emails an invoice for the sessions taken that month, and payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date.

Cancelling or moving a session

You can cancel or move a session free of charge up to 24 hours before it starts. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, or the session is missed, the full fee is due, except where you are using your legal right to cancel (below). To cancel or move a session, reply to your confirmation email.

If your tutor has to cancel, we'll offer another time or a full refund of anything you've paid for that session.

Your legal right to cancel

When you book a session with us at a distance (online, by email or by phone) you have 14 days to change your mind. If you ask for a session to take place within those 14 days, we'll ask you to confirm that request when you book; if you then cancel, you pay only for any session already given. Once all the sessions you booked have been delivered, the right to cancel ends.

Safeguarding and online sessions

Sessions take place by video call on Zoom, using a link your tutor sends with your confirmation. A parent or carer should be at home and within reach for the whole session, and the child should join from a shared space rather than a bedroom. Sessions are not recorded. Your tutor will never contact a child directly outside a session; all messages go to the parent or carer who booked. For students aged 16 or over, a parent or carer should be aware of and agree to these arrangements.

No guarantees

Tuition helps children prepare; schools make their own decisions. We don't promise any result.
