Who we are
Akiru (akiru.co.uk) is the trading name of Kiruthika Aingaran, 27 Old Gloucester Street, London WC1N 3AX. She is the controller of the personal information described here. To contact her about your information, email kiru@akiru.co.uk or use our contact form.

We never ask for a child's name or date of birth on a waitlist. Please don't include them in a message unless you need to.
Who processes it for us
Our website, forms, bookings and checkout run on Wix (Wix.com Ltd), which stores and processes this information on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Tuition sessions run on Zoom (Zoom Video Communications, Inc.), which processes the call on our behalf. Prep-pack payments are taken by Wix Payments (Wix.com Ltd) and its payment processors, which handle your card details; we never see them. Wix and Zoom may process data outside the UK; where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law. We don't sell your information or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Cookies
Some cookies are strictly necessary for the site to work, and we set them without asking. Others are only set if you agree, using the cookie choice shown on your first visit. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.

How long we keep it
Waitlist details until you unsubscribe or 2 years after the last email we send you, whichever is sooner. Questions: 12 months after our last reply. Tuition and purchase records: 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy to take elsewhere. You can withdraw consent at any time, for example by using the unsubscribe link in any email. We'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
